Arizona Counter-Recruitment Coalition
The Arizona Counter-Recruitment Coalition (AZCRC) is a group of students, teachers, parents,
veterans, and workers from the Phoenix metro area who provide information and perspectives
to counter-balance the one-sidedness of military recruiters. We advocate for a society that is truly
secure through the principals of cooperation, conflict resolution, and sustainability, to replace the
current order of exploitation, conquest, and domination. We actively seek to ally with other groups and individuals, to advance our shared goals by working together.
We work to educate people about:
- Myths surrounding military recruitment, job skills training, college money, etc.
- The rights you lose when you join the military.
- The effects of depleted uranium poisoning (Gulf War Syndrome).
- Our economic reliance on military industry (war profiteers: Bechtel & DynCorp).
- Glorification of the military and its effects on our culture.
Ongoing actions:
- Building Coalitions with veterans groups.
- The distribution of counter-recruitment literature and information to those largely targeted by military recruiters, such as high school and college students and other youths, poor and working class people, and minorities.
- We empower students with information & methods to shut down ROTC and JROTC on campus, and to organize counter-recruitment and anti-war direct action groups.
Meeting times:
- Every Sunday we gather @ The Workshop. 2130 S. Mill Ave. Tempe at 7:30pm.
We welcome everyone who is interested in learning more about counter-recruitment.
